TIMELINE JOB DESCRIPTION
2009 – 2010
“All officers shall conform to the Bylaws and Rules of Procedure and parliamentary authority of the OSMA Alliance, and such other rules as the House of Delegates or Board of Directors shall adopt”
The president-elect shall succeed to the presidency at the close of the next
convention following the election. The president-elect shall:
Upon completion of the term as president-elect, automatically become president.
Serve as an active aide to the president and in the absence or inability of the president to serve, perform the duties of the office.
Become acquainted with the affairs and personnel of the alliance so as to fulfill the office of the president when succeeding thereunto.
Serve on the Planning and Development Committee.
Serve as Editor of the Sooner Heartbeat at the discretion of the president.
Work with Planning & Development Chair to see that the OSMAA website is kept up to date.
When asking a member to serve at the state level the president-elect will evaluate any positions they may also be serving at the same time at the national level and/or county level. She/He shall ensure that these members are not set up to over-extend themselves in any or all of their positions. He/She shall evaluate for conflict of interest and shall provided them with a Time-line Job Description so that they are better able to make their decision to serve or not.

Attend 2009 OSMAA Annual Convention and OSMAA Health Education Foundation Annual Meeting.
Attend 2009 Gala at the Annual State Convention.
Assume responsibilities as Editor of Sooner Heartbeat Magazine.
Make plans to attend the AMAA Annual Meeting in Chicago at the Downtown Chicago Marriott.
Assist President with plans for Summer Retreat.
Make a computer Contact List of all E addresses.
Plan the OSMAA Summer Board Retreat
Maintain a complete expense report for the duration of your year to justify your expenses spent on the behalf of the OSMA Alliance. You may be reimbursed to help cover the expenses as determined/budgeted by the OSMAA Board. Reimbursement is usually paid once following the Winter Board meeting and then again after the Annual meeting following receipt and review of your expense report by the Board. This is a volunteer office and your time cannot be reimbursed. You may be reimbursed up to the budgeted amount.
Attend the OSMA Board Meeting.
June 13-15, 2009
Attend the AMAA Annual Meeting as a Delegate in Chicago at the Drake Hotel.
Attend the OSMAA Summer Retreat
Assist President with Membership updates.
Ask County Presidents for Directory and Newsletter mailing. Work with President to arrange County visits.
September (14), 2009– meeting date
Attend OSMAA Fall Board Meeting. Obtain dates for visiting Counties plus County Directories and Newsletter. Work with OSMAA Staff, Nancy
October 3-6, 2009 – Leadership Development Convention – Chicago
Attend LDC I and assist in training attendees. Contact President. Submit reimbursement request for travel to Treasurer.

Attend meetings for Nominating and Finance Committees. Contact Chairs for dates and time.
Fill out paperwork for LDC II and submit. President Elect is responsible for Attendees to LDC II Convention.
Write an article about LDC I for Sooner Heartbeat Magazine.

Prepare speech to be given immediately following installation at Alliance House of Delegates.
Prepare short speech (if desired) to be given at the Inaugural following president pinning of State President’s pin.
Help President select delegates for June AMAA Annual Convention. Help fill out forms to submit to AMAA.

Attend OSMAA Annual State Convention. Complete notebook for next President-Elect and give to officer.
